How can we come back Post-Lockdown?

How can we come back Post-Lock down?

Alright so we are back on Venogroup, bringing you more insights on how to build and sustain businesses in the rural areas. No lies be told the past two years have been hard on everyone in the world. This is the time we are picking up the pieces and trying to build again. However the good news is that we are not starting from scratch, we have a foundation we have built before the pandemic. Again we have to be strategic in our come back because prices are high and people are not working.  There is no way you can increase prices with a high percentage. My biggest concern right now in business is that people do not afford certain things because of not having an income, yes most people do receive distress grant (R350) but that is only for basic needs. How then can people afford to buy our product? I mean we can have good branded products/services but most people may not afford them.

In my search for answers I was introduced to Miprofile. MiProfile is a company that helps entrepreneurs with networking, having online presence and making money. There are so many opportunities within this company and we need to take our time and seek understanding and strategies on how we can best use it to our greatest advantage. I will be writing more on this company and how we can benefit from its services. For now I want us to engage on our come back.

So another important factor is the level of engagements and communication with our employees. How often do we have meetings for brainstorming how we can improve our services/products and hear new ideas, then have feedback meetings?

At this time we need more thinking and more strategic approaches. This applies to all type of businesses and any industry. Post the pandemic there are a lot of changes and we need to adjust and adapt. We need to have conversations about how can we drive innovation, how do we no longer use cash and use digital currency. Again in Miprofile we will learn about such changes.

This is the time to be serious about our own, driving change and innovation.

Innovate and add value.

Supply

Supply- supply is the amount of a resource that firms, producers, labourers, providers of financial assets, or other economic agents are willing and able to provide to the marketplace or to an individual. Supply can be in produced goods, labour time, raw materials, or any other scarce or valuable object ( WikiPedia) I found this topic to be of great interest in a sense that one can be in and out of business because of a supplier. Demand and supply makes up the foundation of an economy. In business we can have an obstacle of a supplier. Recently I have halted selling a product due to a problem I had with a supplier. The supplier ran out of business and it was difficult to even find another supplier nearby. A supplier can increase prices meaning you also have to increase your prices. This seems simple but it tends to be difficult to maintain one’s clientele in such a situation.   This problem of suppliers come with the risk of running a business, one must always be on the look...

Physical efforts

Taking care of your health. When you are in business you are taking care of alot of things and people. One must be both mentally and physically fit to exercise such responsibility. Reading is an exercise for the mind and working out or running is for the body. Business is about trust and how do you trust someone who looks like they are about to give birth? That is unhealthy. Heath concerns me alot and people need to educate themselves about the kind of food they need to eat. A healthy individual will run a healthy business. Physically appearance is everything especially in the service sector. Therefore, be neat, healthy and fit. Exercising for an hour a day will make a whole difference in your life and your business. Develop that mind

Failure

One thing I have been experiencing in my business is failure . This has been very difficult and as we know that most start ups fail in the first 5 years. However with all these adversities I am still consistent is everything I am doing. This year so far has been a complete failure.  I am learning that a business is like a baby. you carry it for months, feed it, dress it, teach it  to crawl and walk . Then you have to take baby steps with it.  It is not over until the fat lady sings. Innovate and add Value
