Crisis!

South Africa is in crisis and no matter how ignorant you are, you know that we are in chaos.First we are still dealing with power failure which costs us a lot of production time and we are losing money.

Now as small businesses we struggle to make ends meet due to not having an alternative source of power we find it hard to run and make money.
The sad reality is that this will be going on for some time.

This is a national problem minding the technical recession we are in.
But we need to persist and be innovative on how we go about finding alternative power.

How do we maintain business in such hard times?

And just as we are recovering from load-shedding.
We are told of Corona virus.
This pandemic is freaking us out and people are told to stay at home but how realistic is that.?
It is day 2 of not going anywhere but I have had enough. Business has not opened in the past two days and I am feeling the load already.

Like what are we supposed to be doing?
Some businesses are dependent on customer contact, how now do we  work?.

Our health is at risk and honestly I feel like not much information is given to us expect that we wash our hands.

It is a burden to us to then educate ourselves and keep safe for the well being of our businesses.

Supply

Supply- supply is the amount of a resource that firms, producers, labourers, providers of financial assets, or other economic agents are willing and able to provide to the marketplace or to an individual. Supply can be in produced goods, labour time, raw materials, or any other scarce or valuable object ( WikiPedia) I found this topic to be of great interest in a sense that one can be in and out of business because of a supplier. Demand and supply makes up the foundation of an economy. In business we can have an obstacle of a supplier. Recently I have halted selling a product due to a problem I had with a supplier. The supplier ran out of business and it was difficult to even find another supplier nearby. A supplier can increase prices meaning you also have to increase your prices. This seems simple but it tends to be difficult to maintain one’s clientele in such a situation.   This problem of suppliers come with the risk of running a business, one must always be on the look...

Physical efforts

Taking care of your health. When you are in business you are taking care of alot of things and people. One must be both mentally and physically fit to exercise such responsibility. Reading is an exercise for the mind and working out or running is for the body. Business is about trust and how do you trust someone who looks like they are about to give birth? That is unhealthy. Heath concerns me alot and people need to educate themselves about the kind of food they need to eat. A healthy individual will run a healthy business. Physically appearance is everything especially in the service sector. Therefore, be neat, healthy and fit. Exercising for an hour a day will make a whole difference in your life and your business. Develop that mind

Failure

One thing I have been experiencing in my business is failure . This has been very difficult and as we know that most start ups fail in the first 5 years. However with all these adversities I am still consistent is everything I am doing. This year so far has been a complete failure.  I am learning that a business is like a baby. you carry it for months, feed it, dress it, teach it  to crawl and walk . Then you have to take baby steps with it.  It is not over until the fat lady sings. Innovate and add Value
