Values in business

In every one of us there are things that drives us and influence our decision making.In business too, we have such.

This then lays a foundation on how we operate and see the world of business.

What I am referring to here is values.

Now values are what guides us in every step we take. In business we need to have values that are very productive, have a positive impact and not selfish.

We have to be driven by empowerment, kindness, life, health,innovation, creativity and respect.

This helps in a sense that how we make money should cater for these values.

For instance one would not sell drugs if you value the lives and the health of others.

I have seen people in business being greedy and making money in anyway possible but neglecting the fact that they are killing people.

People must check their value system and re-evaluate their lives.

What is the use of gaining the whole world and losing lives?

Can we be smart and innovative in making money and stop being casual and tradiotional in business.

Burning Out

I would like to engage on what I am going through and this is something that I am currently struggling with. This is a big contributor to my tiredness and counter productiveness. As a young person who is passionate about change and working hard I have a problem of saying yes to every exciting new project, forgetting that I actually have work to do but I always tell myself that I will balance. There is a problem with wanting to be part of every vehicle that is moving in the name of change and business opportunities. I tend to find myself in the cross fire as I am needed to be in many places at once. I would make an example of what happened this weekend. I happen to be part of a board of directors of a certain organisation and we had to meet and perform certain tasks but I had clients I had to attend, this then made me to be 3 hours late for the meeting with the board, imagine an entire director late by 3 hours? Getting started again. So since we said we are starting afresh, where do we start exactly? My number one problem and I believe it is for most people is money. We may have ideas on how to get started but the money we make in business can only cover certain things. What do we need then? More and more money? I don’t think so. We need to establish a relationship with money, we need to understand it and have discipline to keep it, because it is more about keeping it than making it.
